OWE subsidy for Energiehub Eeserwold Steenwijk

18 July 2025 - The RVO (Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland) announced today that the PRA subsidy has been awarded to the H2 Eeserwold project. It involves an amount of over eight million euros. It concerns hydrogen production at Bedrijvenpark Eeserwold. This is part of Energiehub Eeserwold Steenwijk.
H2 Eeserwold is a collaboration of Roelofs Group with subsidiary Hydronex, Fieten Olie and N.V. RENDO Holding/N-TRA. The energy hub coalition also includes Steenwijkerland Municipality, Steenergie and 43 Mechanised Brigade.
Importance of regional energy hubs
The project is part of a select number of initiatives receiving subsidies from the Subsidy Scheme for Large-scale Production of Fully Renewable Hydrogen via Electrolysis. A total of €1 billion has been made available by the central government in this round. The award highlights the importance of regional energy hubs in accelerating the energy transition and supporting business activity.
