Dalfserveld-West has been designated as a search area for large-scale renewable energy generation in 2021. In recent years, an area process was carried out together with the entrepreneurs, residents and farmers involved in the area. In cooperation with the residents and landowners, LEIS has investigated the possibilities of sustainable energy generation in the area.

Extensive consideration was given to liveability, health, agriculture and energy generation. The plans were not yet ready and follow-up research was initiated. In December 2023, a letter was submitted from the area's representation to the Dalfsen municipality to further investigate the feasibility to arrive at a widely supported energy plan.

LEIS was chosen by the area to continue the area process, and explore the possibilities of energy generation in the area. For this purpose, a plan of action has been drawn up and shared with stakeholders. A steering committee has been formed with representatives from the search area, they are working with LEIS to further develop the widely supported energy plan.
