Windpark Bovenwind is the first project to be realised. Three wind turbines have been built by Enercon, whereby wind revenues remain entirely within the municipality and a cooperative spread among as many shareholders as possible is guaranteed. In addition, a social fund is set up, there is a KGO (quality impulse green environment) task, local residents are financially compensated and proceeds are used for more initiatives.

At the end of June 2021, the Wij Duurzaam Staphorst cooperative signed the supply contract for three Enercon E-138 EP3 E3 wind turbines for Windpark Bovenwind. A first, as these are the first wind turbines of this type to be built worldwide.
